How to use and performances of various types of spatial instruments. Direct instruments which interact with the surrounding medium and record its characteristics (particles detectors, plasma instruments, magnetometers, mass spectrometers, etc..). Teledetection instruments: image or characterization of the source of the phenomenon (imager, polarimeter, radiometer, spectro-imager, etc...). Active instruments: radar, altimeter, X-ray and alpha-particle spectrometers. Passive instruments which receive and treat existing phenomena, light, particles or other phenomena (imager, magnetometer, etc...)
