DAO Thanh Duong, PhD, is a lecturer and researcher at University of Science and Technology of HaNoi (USTH), or so-called Vietnam-France University.

He received a Master degree in environmental science in 2005 at Sub-department of Environmental Technology and Management of Wageningen University – the Netherlands; and followed by PhD degree in Environmental processes and engineering at National Institute of Applied Science of Toulouse - France (INSA – Toulouse) in 2014. His PhD study focused on application of vacuum membrane distillation process for Arsenic removal from brackish groundwater in Mekong Delta area of Vietnam.

From 2001 to 2010, he worked for Center for Environmental Technology and Management as an environmental consultant. His works mainly focused on the field of wastewater treatment, environmental impact assessment and solid waste management.

Since 2014 until now, he has been working for University of Science and Technology of Hanoi as a lecturer and researcher at Department of Water – Environment and Oceanography. His main research topic is focusing on membrane process for water production, especially desalination, in which utilization of solar energy as replacement energy source is one of the interests.
